Barony
at Port Royal Golf Club
The Barony Course at Port Royal Golf Club constitutes 18 of this well-known island facility's 54 holes. The resort has recently been recognized as a "Silver Medal" Resort by Golf magazine.
Playing to just 6,038 yards from the regular tees, Barony is a very enjoyable course for all skill levels. The back nine in particular is a fine mix of long and short holes. Like its sister courses at Port Royal, Barony begins and ends at the club's beautiful Antebellum-style clubhouse.
From the tee, many of the holes on Barony appear to be relatively open. But as you approach the green the real challenge of the course becomes clear. The greens are small and protected by deep bunkers and Bermuda rough, demanding an excellent touch with the medium and short irons. This is a course where accuracy, not length is the key factor.
